The Stone Turtle, as it was named by fans, is a unused boss from Metal Slug 5.

InformationEdit

Very little is known about what was the role planned for this thing or what kind of attacks it would use. According to its animations, it has a laser on it's stomach, a retractable head and neck, and a missile launcher similar to Hi-Do's behind one of the slabs in its "shell." Many theorize it was replaced by the Mammoth Tower.

Though, like the Mammoth Tower, it may have been another mini-boss in the Final Mission of Metal Slug 5.

TriviaEdit

• At the beginning of Mission 5 from Metal Slug 5, if the player watches the tower in the background very carefully, the Stone Turtle can be seen being used as the base of the tower.
• Its form resembles an AT-AT from Star Wars.
• It could have been used as a base for the Mammoth Tower, as a reference to the Hindu belief of a cosmic turtle carrying four elephants on its shell, which in turn carry the Earth on their heads.
• When the game announces the Final Mission, it can be clearly hear that the announcer says "Mission 5 Start!". This may mean that, either the Stone Turtle was meant to be a boss in a deleted mission from the game, or this maybe a developers oversight or just an error.
