The Formor is the first boss of Metal Slug Advance.
Information[]
The Formor is a Super Vehicle developed by the Rebel Army as their own take for the SV-001. It is twice as big as a regular SV-001, and is painted green. The Formor is also much more agile than the Regular Army's Slugs despite its larger size.
Details[]
Formor's first phase involves firing its main cannon, autocannons and running over the player. In its second phase, after losing half of its health, it will also try to jump on top of the player.
As this tank attempts to run over the player by lifting its front, its bottom exposes a red weak point. Shooting it creates a big explosion dealing extra damage to the tank.
Due to its low health, Formor can easily be beaten by using the Metal Slug or Shotgun acquired earlier in the level. Moreover, the player can also simply use grenades and the handgun. The Black Hound, Armor Piercer, and Crawler cards are also effective and will make short work of this boss. Defeating Formor in a fast time will unlock its card.

Formor appears as an affordable unit purchased with stars in the 2015 Christmas event.

Formor is an event unit for the Boy Memories Extra Ops. Its parts can be obtained through the POWs rescued in a random stages. Uniquely, it is the only Rare boss-unit. Formor can knockback enemy units with its close-range attacks and can counterattack when pushed back.
Variants[]

Golden Formor: A golden variant of the Formor with even higher combat capabilities than its "+" version, capable of jumping a greater distance, which also deletes most projectiles, and launching fireballs with greater distance.
Frozen Formor: A white-colored variant of the Former with snow cartridge for battle in heavy-snowfall areas, it boasts a super snowball rolling technique.

Trivia[]
- Formor is a misspelling of Fomor which is an English call for the Fomorians, a supernatural race in Irish mythology.
- Even though the Formor is much smaller than the Metal Rear, they both seem to have around the same amount of HP.
- Its card indicates that it is "3 times" as big as the normal Metal Slug. This may simply be a reference to the Mobile Suit Gundam character Char Aznable, whose red Zaku was famously three times faster than the regular Zaku.
- To date, Formor is the smallest mechanical boss in the entire Metal Slug franchise.
